My new collection called, "Palette Art," was inspired by the idea of "repurposing," and is made up of two kinds: Framing the used paper palette, and dabbing a canvas into the leftover paint on a palette.
For the first kind, when finished with a painting, instead of throwing away the paper palette (a coated piece of 9x12 paper that is sold as a tear out pad) filled with paint, I decided to save it. For me, each palette was a work of art, so I decided to frame and sell them.
The second kind of palette art involves dabbing a canvas into the leftover paint on a paper palette. This is a fun technique, which not only allows the leftover paint on the paper palette to be used, but for me to create all kinds of cool abstract art pieces.
This 9x12 piece of palette art sits on an 11x14 piece of white paper, which give the piece the look of being matted, in an 11x14β black, resin frame.
β This piece also comes with a photo of the painting that was created using the palette, and a description of what palette art is!
